Electrospark alloying

Designation

Application of functional coatings by means of pulsed plasma spark discharges in the air with periodic contact of electrode with the product, as a result of which consumable material of the electrode is transferred and deposited onto the surface of the item. The installation is used in manual or mechanized version.

Applications

• restoration and hardening of machine parts, stamps, tools;

• application of wear-resistant coatings;

• application of electrically conductive and decorative coatings;

• decrease in transient resistance of electrical contacts.

Solid alloys (T15K6, T17K12, VK6, VK8, VK20, etc.), materials based on carbides and metal borides (TiC, WC, Mo2B5, CrB2, TaB2, etc.) are used as electrodes, graphite and etc, to harden tool and instrumentation.
